Mindful eating engages all of our sensory elements in choosing, preparing, and eating food. It immerses us in colors, textures, scents, and even the sounds of eating and drinking. It allows us to be curious and even playful as we investigate our responses to food and our inner cues to hunger and satisfactions. Eating mindfully is an essential part of the Fifth Mindfulness Training (mindful consumption) and allows us to experience the teachings on impermanence, non-self, and the inter-are nature of all things.
