Hi, I recently got a laptop (Compaq cq50-110us) from a family friend but apparently he found it in the trash and thought my father would be able to fix it. We didn't know what was wrong with it until today we actually looked at it and saw that it had a shattered screen, and you can't see anything. We looked up how to connect my laptop to our TV, and we did but then we found out we needed a password so we looked up how to get passed that as well but as soon as we rebooted the laptop it didn't turn back onto the TV. We are currently using a VGA (whatever that is), and I found my old computer's monitor (ViewSonic) to try and get it on there. It still isn't working and I am wondering if I did anything wrong, i'm pressing the buttons people say to push but it's not helping. Can someone please help me? Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. References www.techadvisor.co.uk/forum/windows-29/i-cant-connect-my-laptop-external-monitor-4652487/product demo animation
